Writing a Plan of Correction

Learn to write an effective Plan of Correction utilizing equal input from
department managers, other staff members and residents, to achieve regulatory
compliance
after survey.

OBJECTIVES:
Upon completion of this course, the learner will be able to:
- Determine the timeline for writing and submitting a Plan of Correction,
and the date when the corrections must be completed.
- Demonstrate knowledge
of the four required elements of a Plan of Correction as stated
in Section 7304 of CMS’ State Operations Manual (SOM).
- Identify team members responsible
for correction of each of the deficiencies listed in the Statement
of Deficiencies.
- Sate
how Culture Change Values will enable you to utilize input
from the management team, other staff members, and residents in completing
and implementing
the Plan of Correction to ensure deficiencies are corrected.
- Know when
and how to utilize the Informal Dispute Resolution (IDR) process.
